SECTION 3 · PRIVACY & RESPONSIBLE USE
Vegetation is not personal data.
RA 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012), Section 3(g): "personal information" means any information from which the identity of an individual is apparent or can be reasonably and directly ascertained. Tree canopy aggregates per LGU do not meet that test.
What we publish
- Per-LGU (17), per-barangay (892), and per-crown (242,810) canopy polygons. Crown polygons are vegetation outlines derived from a 1 m canopy-height mask, not buildings: no per-household inference, no individual identification.
- Source rasters cropped to NCR. Sentinel-2 RGB at 30 m, Hansen GFC v1.13, ESA WorldCover v200, Dynamic World v1, Meta canopy height v2 (reprojected to EPSG:4326). All public-record.
- Per-LGU CSV. One row per (LGU, year). Columns: canopy_ha, canopy_pct, total_ha, hansen_loss_ha_cumulative, esa_tree_pct_2021.
- Animation GIFs. 10 m to 30 m resolution time-series over hotspots (NCR-wide, SALEX corridor, Quirino Avenue, La Mesa watershed, per-LGU choropleth). No individual identification at these scales.
What we deliberately do not publish
- Per-household or per-occupant attribution.
- Backyard inventories tied to an address or resident.
- Photographs of identifiable people.
Public-record disclaimer
All inputs are public-record satellite imagery (Copernicus Sentinel data, NASA / UMD GLAD via Global Forest Watch, ESA WorldCover, Google Dynamic World, Meta AI canopy height) and public administrative boundaries (OpenStreetMap, Philippine Statistics Authority). Leaves.PH computes statistical indicators from these sources. Specific allegations of unpermitted tree cutting, if any, require independent investigation and corroboration. Patterns may have legitimate explanations.

Cookies and tracking
leaves.ph does not set any cookies. The site is statically served from Vercel. The map fetches tiles and imagery from two third parties: OpenStreetMap (the default streets basemap, a.tile.openstreetmap.org / b / c) and Esri ArcGIS Online (the Satellite basemap and the aerial shown when you click a crown, server.arcgisonline.com / services.arcgisonline.com). Both log your IP for tile serving; OSM's privacy policy lives at osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy. The Meta canopy raster, crown polygons, and per-LGU data are served from leaves.ph itself. No backend, no auth, no analytics.
